Getting Started with Linkie

Welcome to Linkie! This guide will help you create your first link-in-bio page in just a few minutes. Let's get you from zero to a live, shareable Linkie page with your essential links.

1. Sign Up for Linkie

Creating your account is quick and straightforward.

Sign Up Steps

  1. Visit Linkie at linkie.app (or your Linkie instance URL)
  2. Click "Sign Up" or "Get Started" on the homepage
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Check your inbox for a magic link email from Linkie
  5. Click the magic link to verify your email and log in

That's it—no password to remember! The magic link will automatically sign you in.

💡 Tip: Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within a few minutes.

2. Choose Your Username

Your username becomes part of your unique Linkie URL that you'll share everywhere: linkie.app/yourusername

Setting Your Username

  1. After signing in, you'll see the username selection screen
  2. Type your desired username in the input field
  3. Linkie checks availability in real-time
  4. If available, click "Continue" to claim it
  5. If taken, try variations until you find one you like

Username Guidelines

  • Can contain letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens
  • Should be short, memorable, and easy to spell
  • Best practice: Match your social media handles for consistency
  • Cannot be easily changed later, so choose wisely!

Examples:

  • Good: @johnsmith, @sarahphoto, @acmecoffee
  • Avoid: @john_smith_official_2024_real

3. Set Up Your Profile

Your profile is the first thing visitors see. Complete these essential fields during onboarding:

Display Name

Your full name or brand name as you want it to appear.

  • Example: "John Smith" or "Acme Coffee Co."

Bio

A short description (80-150 characters) that tells visitors who you are or what you do.

  • Example: "Travel photographer capturing moments around the world 📷✈️"
  • Keep it concise and engaging
  • Emojis are welcome!

Profile Picture

Upload a clear photo that represents you or your brand.

  • Recommended size: At least 400x400 pixels
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG
  • Use a well-lit photo of your face (for personal brands) or your logo (for businesses)

How to Add Your Profile

  1. Fill in your display name
  2. Write your bio in the text area
  3. Click "Upload Photo" and select your image
    • The image will be automatically cropped to a circle
  4. Preview your profile on the right side
  5. Click "Continue" when you're ready

You can always update these details later in your Settings.

4. Add Your First Links

Now for the fun part—adding content to your page! Let's start with the most common component: basic links.

Adding a Link Component

  1. Click the "+ Add Component" button
  2. Select "Link" from the component type menu
  3. Fill in the component details:
    • Title: The text on the button (e.g., "Visit My Website", "Shop Now")
    • URL: The destination link (e.g., "https://yourwebsite.com")
    • Icon (optional): Upload a custom icon or leave blank
  4. Click "Save"

Your link appears on your page immediately!

Add More Links

Repeat the process to add 3-5 of your most important links:

  1. Click "+ Add Component"
  2. Select "Link"
  3. Add title and URL
  4. Save and repeat

Essential links to consider:

  • Your website or portfolio
  • Shop or products page
  • Latest blog post or video
  • Newsletter signup
  • Current promotion

Organize Your Links

Drag and drop components to rearrange them. The order on your dashboard matches what visitors see—put your most important link at the top!

Adding a Header (Optional)

Want to organize your links into sections? Add a Header component:

  1. Click "+ Add Component"
  2. Select "Header"
  3. Enter section text (e.g., "Social Media", "Latest Work", "Shop")
  4. Save

Headers help visitors quickly find what they're looking for.

5. Share Your Linkie Page

Your page is live and ready to share!

Your Unique URL

Your Linkie URL is:

linkie.app/yourusername

Find it at the top of your dashboard with a copy button for easy sharing.

Add to Social Media Bios

Add your Linkie URL to your bio on:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • Twitter/X
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn
  • Any other social platform

Share Your QR Code

  1. Navigate to Settings in your dashboard
  2. Find the QR Code section
  3. Click "Download QR Code"
  4. Use it on business cards, flyers, presentations, or anywhere else!

Customize Your Appearance

Click "Appearance" in the sidebar to:

  • Choose from pre-designed themes
  • Customize colors, buttons, and fonts
  • Add a custom background image

Add Social Icons

Click "Social Icons" to add icons linking to your social media profiles. They'll appear at the bottom of your page.

Check Your Analytics

Click "Analytics" to see:

  • How many people visit your page
  • Which links get the most clicks
  • Where your traffic comes from

Keep Your Page Updated

  • Add new links regularly
  • Remove outdated content
  • Test your links periodically
